9月12日 I finally got a job!!After arriving Thailand for only a week, I managed to get 3 job interviews within that period of time!! Then I thought to myself if I started finding a job too quick 'cos I just came back from Australia and I obviously need a break after a long time of studying.
But after the 3rd interview, I got a job offered by one of the great resorts in Koh Samui, the Sila Evason Hideaway & Spa! So I said to myself that this is such a great opportunity working in this famous resort as I can learn and gain my work experience there! That's why I said yes to them....so I'll start my job next month in PR and Wedding areas....I'm soooooo excited!!
Well....guys....if you happen to go to Koh Samui, please let me know so we can meet up and have some seafood or something
8月1日 A new chapter of my lifeAs you may know that I have not, really, work anywhere before. Well...I worked at HP before I came to Australia and did my degree, but that was only for 3 months. So, that does not really count, does it?
Then I finally finished my Masters Degree and suddenly I felt as if this is the point of my life where I have no clue where to go! I mean I know what I want to do but it seems like no one wants to give me a chance to start my career in Hospitality industry as I have applied for jobs (both in Australia and Thailand) and I got rejected so far with the-lack-of-experience-reason.
Anyway, I will definitely keep trying....I WON'T GIVE UP JUST YET!! 5月8日 Time to destressAs you may know that I've been busy with my final project since New Year and I've gone through tough times, I guess it's time for me to destress myself. So last week I decided to join the gym at my Uni and I've been working out since then. Now I feel better, I feel like I can forget about my final project and put it behind while I am at the gym, even though I dream about it at night from time to time. It feels so good that I can have some time for myself and still can work on my papers.
I'm even more excited and feeling better now that I've got only 2 months left as a student, but at the same time I'm sort of sad that I have to leave this lovely city for good. 4月14日 Song Kran FestivalI can't believe I missed another year of Song Kran Festival in Thailand again!! I would probably go some where with my relatives and throw water at people, if I was there in the country. Unfortunately I wasn't!
Oh well, it's not the end of the world. I know I'll be enjoying it next year when I go home for good!!
As far as my final project is concerned, I already finished the first part (well, at least I finished most of it)....still have 3 more parts to get done though. Let me tell you, last week was madness, I've never ever worked this hard in my student life! But I'm sure it'll worth at the end!
Anyway, happy Thai New Year's Day everyone!! 3月16日 First presentation with my clientAs I mentioned in my last blog about the mock presentation, this Wednesday was the real show time! Unexpected thing happened. I was informed that there would be only 2 managers (the GM himself and the Accommodation manager) to attend this proposal presentation, but it turned out to be 4 of them (including the Finance manager and the Acting Chief Executive)!!
Gosh....this project is driving me crazy....I can't wait til I finish it in July....still a long way to go so wish me luck guys and all the best to you all! 3月2日 Mock PresentationAfter waiting for quite a few months for my final project to happen, now I know where I am going to spend the last 6 months in Adelaide...I can't really say the name of the organization as it's a confidential issue but what I can tell you is that it's an award winning Caravan Resort!
That scares me a bit 'cos they are so professional and they are for REAL...if you know what I mean...I've been studying all the theories in the past 18 months but I haven't really used it in the real life situation so this is the time and I'm very nervous...what if I fu*ked up?!?!...it's a MILLION-dollar-project!! Oh God....I'm stressed...
I hope the first presentation goes well so I can move on to the next step of this project with more confidence!! Keep your fingers crossed for me!! 2月16日 Valentine's DayNothing so fancy for Valentine's day this year....however, I got a very special card from my bf. It's special because he created himself, so I was impressed and I was so happy. And because he was not in Adelaide with me, so I spent the evening with Pik (not that she hasn't got a bf, but he had to work that night). We went to my favourite chocolate shop called "Chocolate Bean" and had my favourite chocolate cake and we talked and talked and talked
Well, although I didn't spend time with my bf on Valentine's day but that does not matter 'cos I know we love each other everyday!
Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day like I did....just remember, love is all around! I love you mum, I love you dad 2月6日 เย้ๆ....
Happy to be homeBeen back to Thailand for more than a week now...really good feeling 11月28日 Great weekendLast weekend was one of the best weekends I've ever had in the past months. I went to Kingscliff with Marc. We actually wanted to stay in Byron Bay but all accommodations there were fully booked as it was schoolies weekend, so we went to Kingscliff instead. We rented a car, so we drove from Brisbane, which wasn't that bad....only 2 hours drive til we reached our destination. Kingscliff was beautiful private beach...very quiet...very nice. We had seafood for dinner that night...we ordered seafood platter and it was GREAT, especially the lobster!! YUM!!
We headed to Byron Bay the next day, only half an hour drive from Kingscliff. The beach was packed with students as it was schoolies weekend...but it was still nice. I spent time soaking myself in the sun for 2 hours on the beach....and let me tell you....I had sunburn for the first time of my life!! Still hurt as I type this
We didn't do anything much for the last day as I gotta catch the plane back to Adelaide, but Marc was sweet enough to show me the beauty of the City of Brisbane at the Outlook at Mount Coot Tha....very nice spot! Then we said goodbye at the Airport...don't want to leave but I know I'll see him again soon 11月17日 Bikram YogaI had a chance to try Bikram Yoga the other day, thanks to Eva, my Taiwanese friend who dragged me with her...hahaha...she told me it was going to be a "hot yoga", but I didn't expect it to be THIS HOT! I felt like I was back in Thailand when I walked into that yoga room...it was so hot, not warm but HOT! I didn't know it before that my body can produce this much sweat, I know now after an hour and a half in that room...my body was full of sweat, which I felt great afterwards though. I'm sure I'll get back there again and do some more exercise soon...but maybe not this weekend as I'm heading to the beach! It's going to be 30C. on Saturday and 33C. on Sunday!
Summer is coming...YAY!! 11月6日 A New Chapter of My LifeFirst of all, I want to apologize for all my friends on msn. I haven't been online that often lately, so I didn't catch up with you guys like I used to.
I'm technically still on holiday as LCB cannot get a business project for me just yet -_-' and I have no clue when I will be able to start working on it!! and now it's been delayed for like....2 months, which means I might not be able to graduate next August and I have to stay here longer!! F*cking LCB!!
Oh well, it's not all about the bad news that I want to share with you guys this time....I have a lovely news too! I'm seeing someone at the moment...I cannot tell you all about him just yet as it's just begun...all I can tell is that he is a very nice and kind and sweet to me and he makes me smile and laugh every time I talk to him, which is all I've ever wanted! I'll take it slow and see how it goes this time 10月23日 A bit of this and a bit of that...I'm supposed to get back to Uni since last 2 weeks or so, but as LCB cannot get the Business Experience Project at any hotel chain for me yet...I'll have to wait at home - no classes for now - and at the same time, I've to get the "learning log" done before this coming Thursday!! So now I'm basically on "holiday"....again....I don't like it though as it makes me feel more and more lazy!!!
In the past few weeks, I met new people via friends which is a good thing as Adelaide has nothing much for me to do so I can have something more interesting to kill my free time.
I just finished the book "The Devil Wears Prada"...though I've watched the movie, but I found the book is a lot more fun and entertaining than the film! If you guys have a chance to read...please do, it's good fun!
My mum wouldn't believe it when I told her I was going to the Thai temple on Sunday morning...I couldn't blame her though 'cos I know I'm not a good Buddhist as my parents are...thanks to Paul (My Aussie friend who got married with a Thai girl here) who took me with him that early morning. I've been in Adelaide for more than a year now but I just knew it from him that there is a Thai temple in town!! Shame on me...I know 10月2日 My ItineraryDay 1: Adelaide - Gold Coast
I got up a bit early as I still had to pack my bag and I had to pay the rent before I left. It was too early once I finished the whole thing, so I just went back to bed...hahaha...I was so lazy to do anything at that time!
Got some difficulties at the airport as the computer system of the low-cost airline I was using sucked, but thank god I was there a bit early so I checked-in on time. The flight delayed for 20 minutes, so I just walked around Adelaide Airport and ended up with a cup of cappocino at Hudsons Coffee.
I arrived at Gold Coast around 5.05PM but I had to take a bus from there to the service apartment, which took me almost an hour and I was VERY hungry 'cos I had nothing but a cup of coffee the whole day!
Once I met Bobby (an old friend from Thailand who was joining my trip and got there earlier in the afternoon) and put all my stuff in my room, I wouldn't waste a second to get something to eat. We ended up at one of the Japanese restaurants in Surfers Paradise. Bobby tried their food before and it was incredibly nice and cheap!
We went back to the apartment a while after dinner as we had to get up early the next morning.
Day 2: Movie World
After we got picked up by the shuttle bus around 9.30AM, we arrived at the Movie World (which was somewhere out of town) around 10.30AM. I personally do not watch cartoons like Scooby-Doo or stuff like Batman, but when I saw their shows and was in that atmosphere, I quite enjoyed it and had a good time! There were so many rides at the Movie World but I just hopped on only one as the rest of them were too scary for me...especially the one called "Superman Escape"...I enjoyed Shrek 4D Movie the most...it was so real...like...when spiders came out on the screen, you can actually feel the spiders walking between your legs!! It was amazing!!
We got back to the apartment by 5PM something and we had to got dressed and rushed to Conrad Jupiters as we wanted to see the Tempo Rouge - a spectacular live stage ranging from the raw heart-thumping Latino Brazilian beats and gloriously extravagant costumes of Rio Carnivale, brilliant Bollywood, American Jazz, juggling high voltage fire works, to the heart of Africa with the incredible Limpopo African Acrobats! The show was great and we also enjoyed the 5-star dinner at the Conrad Jupiters as included in the package...it was a very good deal...like AUD$86. I had a great time that day!
Day 3: Brisbane
Got up early again as we had to catch the train at 9AM to Brisbane (It took about an hour from Gold Coast to get there). We got there by 10AM something and we met up with P'Kwan (my senior from ABAC) and Tee (my friend from ABAC) and his girlfriend. P'Kwan showed us around the city...had Japanese food for lunch...went to the City Museum and also the one in South Bank...did some shopping...had crap fish and chips for dinner...hopped on the CityCat and experienced the city of Brisbane from the Brisbane River...it was freezing that evening on the boat!
Day 4: Surfers Paradise City Tour and the Glow Worm Tour
We had no plan for today so I thought it was a good idea to explore the Surfers Paradise as I didn't spend much time in town ever since I got there. We decided to go on the Adventure Duck Tour 'cos we could experience both land and water adventure! It was like doing a city tour on a big bus that can go in to the sea...very cool ride!
After that we just took it easy and had some rest before we joined the Glow Worm Tour later that night at the Natural Bridge. It was so amazing to walk in the forest at night and saw how beautiful the worms can be when they were all glowing! It was just a great experience!
Day 5: Gold Coast - Newcastle
We left the Surfers around 9.30AM as we had a plane to catch at 11.55AM to Newcastle (it's where Bobby did his degree). Once I land, I was shocked by the strong Newcastle accent of the airport bus driver as well as the weather...it was hot like I was about to melt! The airport itself was about 40 minutes drive away from the city so I can see many things like trees....little lakes....sand dunes....on the way to my backpackers.
I was even more shocked when I arrived at the CBD. It was a GHOST TOWN! I thought Adelaide was quiet, but Newcastle....aaarrrggggg!! There was NOTHING on the main road, but the old buildings!! It made me love Adelaide more and more!!
The reason why I went there was because I wanted to know how quiet it can be as Bobby always told me that it was very quiet in his city and I didn't believe him until I experienced it myself!!
We had dinner at a Thai restaurant where Bobby used to work for. It was good to have nice Thai food again especially the steam fish and goong pla (spicy prawn salad with lemongrass). I just missed Thai food!!
After dinner, I got a chance to meet my Aussie friend, Joel, for a coffee. He showed me around and took me to a nice spot where I can see the whole town from the top of the hill. Newcastle is beautiful with all the lights at night!
Day 6: Hunter Valley
Bobby had to do some stuff for his graduation at Uni so I decided to visit the wineries at Hunter Valley and thanks to Joel who drove me around even though we got lost for a bit....but it was a good adventure....hehehe....at least we did some wine tasting!
I decided to have an early night 'cos I had to be at the airport at 5AM, plus there's NOTHING to do in Newcastle!
Day 7: Great Ocean Road
Arrived at Tullamarine Airport, in Melbourne around 8AM. We went to pick up the car after we got all the luggages. There were 4 of us in this trip to Melbourne (Bobby and his friends - P'Nan and P'May, and myself). P'Nan was our driver as she was the only one who got the international driving license. It took us almost half of a day to get there on the Great Ocean Road....but all I can say is that it was worth going there....it was absolutely fantastic!! I LOVED it!! The Ocean was beautiful....the weather was perfect....gosh....I can't wait to go back there next year when my parents come here for my graduation!
After a long day, we finally got ourselves a nice service apartment somewhere in Warrnambool, which was a small town with great food to offer....you just have to know where to go!...so, that night we just chose the restaurant that had heaps of poeple and it was the right decision 'cos I had the best grilled chicken cesar salad ever!!
Day 8: Ballarat - Sovereign Hill Historic Park
Checked-out early as we had to go to other town called Ballarat, which was the home of Sovereign Hill Historic Park or an open-air museum. They did everything like in the old days...they washed their clothes by hands...they wore traditional dress...they used traditional pens and ink, etc. The most interesting part in Sovereign Hill would be the spot where we all can pan for gold...there were so many kids trying to find the gold! I know they wouldn't put the real gold in the pond but it was good fun!
Day 9: Melbourne
We were in the countryside for a while so it was time to go back to the city! But before we can check-in to our hotel, we had to find the way to return the car! Driving in Melbourne CBD is CRAZY! There were trams, cars, buses, people, complicated way to drive....it was just crazy!!
After we put all the stuff in our rooms, we started to walk around the CBD. I did a bit of cloth shopping and I have to admit that Melbourne is really a place to shop!
We went back to the hotel for a bit then we continued our night to the Crown Casino - The BEST in the country! It was so huge and there were so many people! There was pubs, night clubs, restaurants, shops, cinema, etc. It was just massive!!
Day 10: Another day in Melbourne
It was kind of a lazy day for me. I didn't really want to do anything that day so I just met up with a girlfriend of my relative. She's studying there in Melbourne so I thought it would be cool to catch up with her. I also did a bit of sight-seeing by the free tram, which was cool. The atmosphere in Melbourne was crazy as there was the Grand Final coming as well, so it was so crowded!
What I did the whole day was just enjoyed the relaxing time and went clubbing at the Crown Casino with P'Hong later that night. It was good fun!
Day 11: Last day in Melbourne - Adelaide
I had to check-out at 11AM the latest, but my flight back to Adelaide was at 4.30PM so I had some free time to do more shopping! I decided to go to Smith Street, just 5 minutes outside the city. There were many outlets of stuff like Adidas, Nike, etc. So I got myself something back to Adelaide!
After the shopping, I headed back to town to had lunch then packed everything that I just bought to my luggage and it was about the time that the airport pick-up arrived. I checked-in on time at the Melbourne airport and got home safe in Adelaide by 6PM!
It was one of the best trips ever!!
9月20日 Fun Time! That's right....it's time for me to get away from Adelaide for a while....well...though I'll be going on the trip for 10 days only, but it's better than nothing, right?
Oh well, I've got a plane to catch at 2PM this afternoon.....so until next time....enjoy your day everyone!! I'll take lots of photos all the way!! 9月5日 Here comes my holidaysWow....I didn't realize how long I haven't updated this page! I've been busy with my assignments again! (yes...I know it's boring to mention about them! hahaha) But that's a good thing though 'cos it's nearly the end of the term again without me waiting for so long to have a break...time flies so fast, eh??
I'll have 2 weeks off in September, however, I still have some assignments to get done during that period but who cares....I'll make sure I'll do some travelling this time! I mean, I've been to Sydney before, but that was for 3 days or something.
This time, I'm going to spend 4-5 days in Gold Coast with Bobby (my Thai friend from ABAC)....might hop on a train and go to Brisbane to see another 2 Thai friends there. Then I'm going to Newcastle with Bobby (he's studying there actually) and stay there for a few days. After that I'll be heading to Melbourne with Bobby and his friends for 5 days. Then I'll fly back to Adelaide on my own and get back to the new study period.
Very long trip indeed, but it should be fun! Don't you think?
8月22日 Business Experience ProjectSome of you might already know that I've gotta do some business project in a real hotel for the last 6 months of my degree. I thought I'd be somewhere in Adelaide, but it isn't the case any more!!
YES!! Le Cordon Bleu (my school) allows me to go ANYWHERE in Australia...YES!! So I'm thinking that I might want to work in Gold Coast or Melbourne...still cannot decide where to go yet...but one thing I know for sure is that I'll be sad to leave this town...I've been living here for a year now and I'm quite attached to it really.. 8月16日 The Lake HouseHere comes my Tuesday movie night! YES! It's the cheapest night of the week! hahaha....so, tonight I went to the cinema with Eva (My Taiwanese friend) 'cos we both wanted to watch this movie so bad.
The Lake House is one of the movies I wanted to see for so long because they've got both my favourite actor and actress - Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock - in it.
This movie is about a doctor (Played by Sandra Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with her newest resident, a frustrated architect (Played by Keanu Reeves). They actually live 2 years apart, so it's very hard for them to keep their unusal relationship. However, the ending is just incredible! and I just love it!
I'm so sure that when I go back to Bangkok next time I will buy a copy of this movie and put it in to my movie collections! It's a MUST SEE if you guys are fans of romantic/comedy movies.
8月13日 My BirthdayThis year is the first time that I did not spend my birthday with my family and my best friends 'cos I have to be here in Adelaide
For my friends in Adelaide, thank you for the birthday wishes and taking me out last night....I had a blast!! And thank you so much to Khun Pikky for your lovely birthday gift and the cake!! 8月5日 Indian NightI was a bit bored a few days ago.....and I've been staying up late doing assignments most of the time....and there was an Indian Night last night....so I thought I would give it a go as I haven't been to any Indian parties before and I had nothing to do. So I went there with a group of my Indian friends.
The party wasn't that bad as I imagined. There were loads of Indian (Of course, it was Indian Night....what did you expect, silly!!) and there were some Australians, Chinese, and me....Miss Thailand!! LOL
The music was ok....it was like hip hop/RnB in Indian style....so it was quite good as I can dance with it! It was interesting to see how all Indians danced though....they enjoyed the music so much....they danced with smile on their faces and they danced pretty much with anyone in the crowd....which was great as I think that is the big thing that they showed me - Unity!
I wish Thai people (living abroad) were like this sometimes. |
